How to Find Old Aerial Photos of Your House in Delaware (Free)
Want to see what your house, farm or lot looked like decades ago? Delaware has unusually good historical aerial coverage, and you can look up any address in under a minute.
Step by step
- Open the viewer at maps.mixinvisuals.com. It works on desktop and phone, with no sign-up.
- Find the property. Type the street address (e.g. “Bay Ave, Slaughter Beach DE”), the county parcel number (PIN), or GPS coordinates. The viewer zooms in and outlines the parcel.
- Pick the oldest year. Click 1937 (or 1926, if your area is covered). The black-and-white sets from 1937 to 1968 are 1–2 m per pixel: enough to see houses, barns, tree lines and field patterns.
- Compare with today. Shift-click 2024 and switch to Swipe. Drag the handle across the property to see exactly what changed.
- Flip through every year. Press Space to play the years in order, like a flip-book.
- Save it. Use the highlighted parcel as the area, select the years you want, and click Download, or make a Year sheet: one image with every year side by side.
Tip: the timeline (T) shows thumbnails of your spot in every year and dims any year with no imagery there, so you never click through blank years.
